Talisman Chooses Aptiv Film For CMOS / CCD Mask

posted Wednesday, 4 November 2009

Talisman Chooses Aptiv Film For CMOS / CCD MaskTalisman Industrial Tape has selected Victrex Aptiv film for use on CMOS / CCD mask for SMT soldering for electronics and semiconductor industries. Talisman's newly developed protective tape is suitable for applications exposed to critical and harsh environments, such as wafer, IC packaging and CMOS / CCD camera-module packaging.

In chemical- and heat-sensitive applications, existing protective tape has a tendency to etch the surface coating, leading to significant loss of properties. The adoption of Aptiv film on protective tape enabled Talisman to develop CMOS / CCD mask with excellent chemical and heat-resistance capabilities, enabling stable performance in harsh environments. Besides ensuring exceptional protection, the protective tape based on Aptiv film also helps Talisman's customers to increase production capabilities and raise yield rate, especially in the SMT process.

Richard Lin, general manager of Talisman, said: 'Victrex Aptiv film is an ideal material solution for our protective tape and significantly enhances our production capability. 'For example, after we finished the chemical process on one side of the wafer, we can laminate this film on the other side for protection. 'The film helps to increase the wafer from one-sided to double-sided capacity.'.
